Happy New Year!
With a new year, I hope to do more here at Nuttall Art, including opening shop again for commission
artwork! With Valentine's Day coming in a month, what better way to show your loved one you care than a drawing! Original artwork shows more thought and lasts longer than flowers or chocolates! Contact me if interested and I can give prices (I charge by size).  Below I've posted ideas, like your loved one's pet(s), children, favorite musician, favorite actor, or even a drawing of you and your significant other!

Ringing in the New Year

Well, with the new year, I thought I'd post the first drawing of 2011, the first completed painting of 2011 and the first project of 2011.
The John Wayne is a charcoal that's not quite done for a commission. It's 18x24. The Sammy Hagar oil painting is also 18x24 and is also a commission piece. The final is the first oil painting I've started this year. It's 20x30 (I think).

"I intend on killing you in one minute, Ned!"

How do I NOT have this drawing posted??? It's in the studio now. It's a graphite tribute to one of my favorite scenes in the ORIGINAL "True Grit", hence the title "Fill Yer Hands...". It's about 18x24. I realize upon loading the drawing that this photo of it is cropped a bit.

2 Day Art Sale

Things have been slow and it's looking like I'm going to lose the studio. Below are pieces of artwork that are discounted until Sunday, August 2nd. If I can't sell, I have to give up the studio. This is a great chance for you to get cheap art!

Both the Stevie Ray Vaughan and the John Wayne drawings are dropped in price from $432 to $216 . Each of these drawings are $216 until August 2nd. John Wayne is 24x36 and I think the SRV is 36x48

This piece is $300. It's 24x36, I think. If so, it's usually $432. It might be bigger than 24x36.

These drawings are $100. Roughly 18x24, which usually costs $216.

ALL block prints in the studio are only $20 until Sunday, Aug. 2nd!

Contact me via e-mail or phone (989)343-1321 if interested. Thanks.

Me and The Duke at X Cape Con 2

I'm going to be bringing some of my fine arts pieces as well as my comic art to the X Cape Con. One of the pieces I might bring is this piece of John Wayne from one of my 3 favorite Duke movies, "The Shootist". I created a woodblock print from this drawing and will have that available. SO, if you're in the Flint, Michigan area November 22-23, swing by the Holiday Inn in Gateway Centre.

Oh, and I also have the Pete Townsend drawing up on Ebay again.

Duke Art

Alright, pilgrims.

I am putting up one of my older and one of my favorite drawings up on Ebay, my John Wayne charcoal drawing from one of my favorite movies, "The Shootist". http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160262939364

This movie was John Wayne's last film. He found out in the early 70's that he had cancer. He beat it and did some movies, but either before or during the making of "The Shootist", the cancer returned. The film is about an aging gunslinger, or shootist, who finds out that he has cancer and doesn't have long to live. He chooses to stay in a small town that seems to have some old enemies in residence. The doctor who confirmed his illness, played by Jimmy Stewart, tells John Wayne (I'm paraphrasing here), "If I were you, and this is just me, I would not die the death I just described."

I thought it was a fantastic film and a perfect finale for John Wayne. This drawing is a personal favorite to me, and I hate to let it go, but I gotta do what I gotta do to keep the lights on.
