Rough Draft Homage

I'm a huge fan of popeye, but obviously. I am also a huge fan of the thing from the Fantastic Four. Wimpy is one of my favorite Popeye characters, so I thought I would do a little homage to one of the classic Fantastic Four covers by Jack Kirby, but splice it with E.C. Segar's Popeye characters from Thimble Theater (which became Popeye).

This is a sloppy rendition of my idea. I'm hoping to make a bigger and better version of it soon

ULTIMATE Tag Team!

I got in my head the other day while being goofy with my kids an old fashioned wrestling promo, but with Hulk Hogan and Doctor Octopus. So I added to it.

Coloring the Archies as the FF

I was inspired by the Archie artwork of Fernando Ruiz, a more recent Archie Comics artist, to do a little mashup of Archie's pals and the Fantastic Four (since The Thing is my favorite superhero character). I chose to film the coloring of the drawing. I used watercolor. I tried to speed it up so boredom wouldn't set in for viewers, but my abilities with technology are limited. Let me know what you think!

Spiky Thing 12 7 18

It's another video, this time of my all-time superhero character The Thing

I have been on an illustrating kick, doing drawings of Popeye characters, and also comic book characters, and watercolor painting them. Watercolor is not my strong point, but I keep practicing. Here are my most recent.
