Studio Birthday coming soon!!

I've gone through my old posts here on the ol' blog, and apparently I paid my first month's rent on NUTTALL ART STUDIO around April 3rd, meaning the 1 year anniversary is coming up!! I want to celebrate! I want to share (as I have since I opened)! So, On Saturday, April 16th, 2011 I will be having a ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of NUTTALL ART STUDIO at 105 N.3rd St. Suite 1, located in Downtown West Branch, Michigan! I'll probably have some giveaways, some free food and what-not.

DON'T FORGET THE MAMAS!!!!

I know it's early, but I'm offering a Mothers' Day Special: 11x14 drawing or painting, up to 4 subjects, for only $60!!!! The regular price for a 4 subject 11x14 is $92. Offer expires ONE WEEK before Mothers' Day! If you want a larger portrait, we can work out a special.

I can't stop!

I've taken a break from my Popeye series, but I'm going to get back to work on it. I just finished up the Wimpy charcoal drawing (seen here) and you can see the rest of the series HERE .

My take on Americana

After working on it for over a year, I think it's finally done!

What? Did you think I was gonna just SHOW you the finished piece here??

What's a guy gotta do?

SOOOOO..... know of any art galleries who'd be interested in displaying my work and NOT just want to take my money?
I've found that most galleries I've contacted either (A)want money to exhibit in their gallery (B) aren't looking for artists at the moment(C) they don't reply back or (D) don't feel my work would fit into their gallery.
These are the reasons I haven't pursued gallery shows in awhile. It becomes very discouraging. I've contacted galleries in Michigan and across the country, with no interested parties.

Paint It Black (or draw it black and white

Graphite drawing I was hired to do of Mick Jagger of the Rolling Stones. I did a much smaller drawing than this of the same image for the same person when I was around 15 years old.

LIMITED time only!

So, just for giggles, I'm temporarily dropping the price of my SRV charcoal drawing from $494-$250. Interested, or know somebody who is? Contact me ASAP because I might only have the $250 price on it for a day or so...

What to hang?

I've been thinking again about being in galleries, I had (or have) a chance to have a solo exhibit at Kirtland Community College, but I started wondering about what would go in it? Should I put a mash-up of artwork, have a theme or exhibit one of my series', such as Jack Nicholson or Popeye? Or both? I could go with a personal hero theme. If the opportunity arises, what do you think my exhibit should have?
