I INKED!

I'm pretty happy with how this turned out! I NEVER go straight to paper with ink, let alone for a realistic drawing OR with dipping pen and ink!! This took over an hour. Can you tell who it is?

The things you can win for a buck!

I JUST finished the final piece for Nuttall Art Studio's 3 Year Anniversary celebration on Saturday, April 20th! Here are the pieces I'll be raffling off ($1 raffle: each ticket is $1 and you can buy as many as you want and put in to win whichever ones you want):

Now that the rush of the holiday orders are done, I'm able to work on my personal projects again in the studio (as well as the mural project at the Rose City Middle School, as posted previously). I'm submitting more work for consideration for the IDW Publishing POPEYE comics (so far no luck but I'm going to keep trying! It's a dream job for me), and finishing up a couple graphite drawings. The drawing below (I Think) is finished. It's been waiting for me to work on it again for 6-12 months, give or take a week. If you can't tell, it's Robert Plant.

Sixty-Six to Timbuktu

This is my most recent project. I like Robert Plant. Alot. This is a graphite drawing, 18x24 and about 5-7 hours into it.

Put your ear up to the Plant and listen....

**This drawing on display at Kirtland Community College Art Gallery in the West Branch Artist Pool Annual Art Show until October 31st****

I would like to recommend, if you are a fan of Robert Plant, and specifically Plant and Alison Krauss's album a year or two ago, Robert Plant's new album "Band Of Joy". It has some bluegrass, some blues, and an all-around soulful feel throughout. I was doubtful when I first listened, but it grew on me. Alot. I'm thinking of doing a series of Robert Plant artwork (behind my Popeye series, my Jack Nicholson series and my Sammy Hagar series), as his work, old and new is very entrancing to me.
Nuff said.

Still more newer work

I have to say how happy I am about how much work I've finished, and started and finished while in the studio. Here's a couple examples.

And there's more HERE

Opening's over, but the studio's still open!

The opening of the studio went well. Most of the visitors came and went by 5:30, so nobody but my family members who attended were there for the raffle winners to be announced (congrats Ahearnes and Schaibergers). They won these-

I saw some familiar faces and new faces yesterday. Now that the opening's over with, I'll share with you some of the newer pieces I "premiered" at the studio opening-

Oncearoundandbackagain

If you like the drawing above, please click here. It is a drawing of Robert Plant, of the Honeydrippers, solo artist fame, and he was in some band about a led balloon....?

Rock &Roll

It's been a long time

Since I...
...well...
...posted a drawing that's up for sale on Ebay.
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=160263012383
I did this drawing of the great ROBERT PLANT, formerly of Led Zeppelin, currently touring with bluegrass singer Alison Krauss. I am a HUGE Plant fan, from Zeppelin, from The Honeydrippers, and from is solo career. He just has a great voice and presence that I had to draw him. This piece is a charcoal drawing. I'm putting it up for Ebay and might have prints available eventually. PLEASE comment and let me know what you think, and let other Zep fans know of it.
