If you've mentioned hiring me for artwork in the last few months, NOW would be a great time to follow through!! It's only $50 up front to begin a project and the rest is paid upon completion of the artwork!
This is about the time that I encourage people to get to me if they want artwork for the holidays so I have time to complete it and customers have time to pay for it. So, if your project isn't for the holidays, and you don't want your project to get pushed back due to the rush of holidays artwork, contact me SOON (plus, things are not going well for the studio, or Nuttall Art in general).
This is a blog about myself, my art and my life. It may also include comments about comics, music, tv, movies, or whatever nonsense may come to mind. I must note that I have original art and prints available for sale, and I am also available for hire for commission work. Portraits can be a great gift, be it family, friends, or of someone's favorite singer or actor.

About to throw a party, and everyone's invited (except THAT guy!)
Alright, cats 'n' kittens!
April 3rd marks the ONE YEAR ANNIVERSARY of NUTTALL ART STUDIO!!! TO celebrate, I'm hosting a "party" on Saturday, April 16th, 2011 from 4pm-8pm at the studio. There'll be free food, drinks (no alcohol), $2 raffle of specially made artwork and other stuff!
Now, this event DOES take place the same night as Downtown West Branch's Art & Wine Walk (from 5-9), where local artists display their work in downtown businesses (the businesses actually stay open PAST 5 that day!), and those businesses have free wine tasting and food. So, there's plenty to do in the area in those 5 hours! Parking for the studio is down N. 3rd St. across from Morse Clark Furniture. Hope to see you there!

Cast your Vote, but not until Saturday!
I want it clear that I don't give a shit about politics & I don't bitch & moan about changes & the way of the American Politician, because I don't care. BUT I do care about artists who put hard-earned money up to compete in art battles against other artists. I don't have said money so I might not be competing, but I still think you should check out ART de COMBAT this Saturday at the Enchante' Gallery in West Branch, Michigan.
Here's how it works: YOU get to the gallery and pay $20 at the door and get a ticket. You then proceed further and look at the artwork the artists are making (they have 3 hours to begin and finish a piece of artwork). You then decide which piece of art you like the most and write down the number the artist was given and drop your ticket into the designated ballot box. You then can enjoy the food and/or drinks available (pop, water, coffee, beer, booze) at no extra charge. Once you pay that $20 at the door you can eat and drink yourself stupid. Or you can watch the artists, mingle and/or wait to hear the results of the voting. Or you can leave whenever you'd like.
I may not be competing, as I have not had enough business to afford the entry fee for artists. But that doesn't mean I don't believe in these events to encourage the general public to get involved in the arts! You can watch an artist create artwork in front of you! And you can help that artist win money that can help their career or their family! AND there's a Silent Auction during and after the combat where you get a chance to bid on your favorite artwork being created. This piece, for example, was sold for only $40 at an art battle. Bad for me, but great for the highest bidder.

Battle to the DEATH! well, not really...
I'm competing in an art battle in Hale ( http://haleyes.org ). Gotta be honest, I hope I win. I actually NEED to win. I have bills to pay and might lose the studio if I don't win or sell what I make at the silent auction (which takes place during and after the art battle). And I worry that it'll be more about the numbers than the quality of the artwork. I won't have alot of people in my corner, so I have to rely on my talent, and sometimes that just isn't enough. Wish me luck and if you're in the Hale, Michigan area, stop by and vote!

PAINT IT RED

When I have ample time, I will tell the tale of a Red Rocker named Sammy Hagar. Until then, here's a collage I put together of around half the artwork Sammy has in his possession. I call it "Paint It Red", from the Hagar song "Red":
"RED!
RED!
Paint it Red
Green ain't mean compared to Red!!"
FYI there is ONE image on the collage that Sammy does not have, and that's the large woodblock print (b&W) in the center. Someday, I hope...
11x17 is $12,
18x24 is $20
I'm putting one up on Ebay.
