G.I. Joe Day!

 I'm an '80s kid. I grew up with the beginning of Nintendo, the heydays of home video rentals (VHS tape from Blockbuster and Family Video), He-Man, Saturday morning cartoons, and a big part of my youth: G.I. JOE! I had a LOT of figures, and I watched the cartoon. My favorite characters have always been Shipwreck, Sgt. Slaughter and Stalker. 

TODAY, February 1st, is apparently G.I. Joe Day! So, to celebrate I thought I'd post some art and a couple other photos related to the Joes.

 The photos below were taken in 2016 at the Great Lakes Comic Con in Warren, Michigan, where WWE wrestling Hall of Famer and G.I. Joe alum Sgt. Slaughter and comic creator Larry Hama (creator of the G.I. Joe comic books) were special guests. I drew the photo for Sgt. Slaugher.

 I've done a few more pieces for upcoming comic conventions. These are works in progress.

Comic Cons and Commission Art

 It's been a LLOOOONG time since I've posted. Well, I've been busy. And I will continue to be busy, which is why I'm here.

I wanted to share some of the commission pieces I was hired to do:

 

I will also be in the Artist Alley of a couple comic book conventions in Michigan. The first is the GREAT LAKES COMIC CONVENTION at the Macomb Event Center in Warren, Michigan February 25-26.

I will also be in the Artist Alley at the MIDLAND COMIC CON at the Midland Mall March 5th (it's a 2 day show but I will only be there the 1st day). Here's the LINK.

I'm going to have some new prints of my DC HEROES and VILLAINS (close to chronological order in terms of first appearances, but I would forget someone and add it later!). It's just like my MARVEL prints.These are the original b/w images before I colored them (I pencil, ink and color all by hand. NO digital, FYI).

These will be available (in color!) as prints at both conventions! I'm also doing some new art for the conventions, including this (the image here is a work in progress, but it's actually done):

Where I'll be next weekend!

I'll be in the Artist Alley at the Great Lakes Comic Convention at Macomb Community College in Warren, Michigan February 26 and February 27th, selling our book VIETMIME, doing Mime sketches, doing caricatures, cartoon and comic book characters, and enjoying the atmosphere ! Come visit! Our table, which will have a couple banners: one saying NutBerger Ink and the other saying Nuttall Art, is right on a corner section!

COOOONNNNN!!!!!!

I will have a table in the Artists' Alley at the Great Lakes Comic Con February 26 and 27th in Warren, Michigan at Macomb Community College. I will be there with my collaborator for VIETMIME Tim Schaiberger, promoting (and hopefully selling) our Graphic Novella of the Mime. It's more novel than graphic, to introduce the world to the Mime (and with our time constraints, the best way to go right now).
  I will be doing sketches of Mime, caricatures, cartoon characters and super hero characters, as well as have some art prints to sell.  You can find info on the convention here, including directions, featured guests, ticket prices ( $10 daily) and other information!
I might even have the variant cover issue of POPEYE Comics Classics I did for sale!

MIME COMING!!!

  My comic partner Timothy G. Schaiberger​ and I are planning to be in the Artist Alley of the 2015 Great Lakes Comic Con this coming February to preview our story (created in 2004). For those of you who know us, you know what I'm referring to. I want it to be a bit of a surprise. HOWEVER, we still need to get it printed/published in time for the convention, AND we need to reserve our table ($$). We're trying a different format just to get our story and character out while I work on the comic book format version. 
  I am offering my services as a cartoonist/caricature artist to raise the funds needed to achieve this long-awaited dream of ours. You can contact me here if you'd like a sketch of your favorite cartoon or comic book character or a caricature drawn.
